CARBON BUDGET
MONOPOLY
Earth's resouces are finite, and the choices we make every day have an impact on the planet. Do you know how much your lifestyle affects the environment? Americans are major carbon consumers, consuming five times the global average. How do your choices stack up? Can you afford your carbon footprint?
Rules:
Here’s how it works: You’ll start with $200 to represent the 20 tons
of carbon dioxide that the average American contributes each year.
You’ll be asked 6 questions about key areas of individual consumption
and carbon emissions. Each answer will require you to pay a certain
amount. The higher the environmental impact of your answer, the more
you’ll owe the planet. Sorry, there are no credit cards — going into
debt means using resources the Earth can’t replenish.
Pick the response that most closely represents your lifestyle, even if it’s not exact.
